Parents' Day Out at Ascension

The Episcopal Church of the Ascension offers childcare for infants and toddlers in Lake Highlands and surrounding Dallas and Richardson neighborhoods in a new Parents’ Day Out program. From September through May, we operate two days a week, on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Our PDO offers a loving, caring, and safe environment for infants and children from 6 months to 3 years old. Using a Christian curriculum, we help children develop personal and social skills, practice gross and fine motor skills, and learn foundational academic concepts.

Ascension’s ”Garden of Hope”—an on-site garden open to parishioners and community members—provides a thematic focus for our PDO program. With the help of experienced teachers, children explore the garden, and use all their senses to learn about the wonder of God’s world.

Our mission is to help infants and toddlers develop socially, spiritually, and academically in a Christian environment. We aim to encourage a love of God’s creation and an awareness of the importance of being good stewards of the environment.
