YOUTH
“
Your word is a lamp before my feet and a light for my journey.”
-Psalm 119:105 CEB
YOUTH AT ASCENSION
Adolescence is a time of exploration and transition. Our youth take ownership of their community. Supported by a team of caring adults, our youth are given the tools to live out their faith as leaders in our parish. Service projects, pilgrimages, social events, and Bible study are all part of our youth offerings.
WEEKLY FORMATION
ABIDE | J2A
6:00 PM ON SUNDAYS (6-12TH GRADE)
YOUTH AND OUTREACH CENTER
J2A helps teens create and understand the importance of Christian community as they develop critical thinking and other skills they will need in adulthood. This section was the first piece developed and many young people find that the bulk of their formational work gets done in these two years. In many ways, the J2A years are the heart of the entire program. The end of J2A is marked with a spiritual pilgrimage that is often a life-changing experience for the group. Questions? Contact Katie Dickenson

CONFIRMATION | 13+
Confirmation is the sacramental rite in which the candidates express a mature commitment to Christ and receive strength from the Holy Spirit through prayer and the laying on of hands by a bishop. Those who were baptized at an early age are invited to make a mature public affirmation of their faith. Confirmation classes will help prepare candidates for the sacrament as we explore the church's teachings and develop our own faith identity. Contact Fr. Paul Klitzke if you are interested in participating in the next series of classes.
SERVING IN WORSHIP | 10:30 AM SUNDAYS
Youth are encouraged to lead through service in our community and worship services. Teens can serve as acolytes, readers, youth vergers, ushers, and greeters. For more information, contact Fr. Paul.

BLESSING BAGS
Our Blessing Bags are a youth-sponsored ministry and fresh batches are available each week. We have them set up in the Narthex and invite you to take a few, put them in your car, and hand them out to people who need a little love. What's in them? Socks, a comb, a toothbrush, toothpaste, a thermal blanket, bandaids, a bandana, tampons, a granola bar, and water!
If you'd like to help purchase the contents, we have an Amazon wish list to make it easy for you. Click HERE! Thank you for your love!
PARENTS OF YOUTH
Parents are the primary providers of faith formation for their children. At Ascension, we are blessed to work alongside our parents in the formation of their teenagers. During youth formation, there are offerings for parents allowing for family formation.
