Capital Improvement @ Ascension

"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!" - 2 Corinthians 5:17

Dear Ascension Family, Throughout Ascension’s history, we have continuously made significant enhancements to our church facilities. Investing in capital improvements not only increases our ability to practice ministry on campus; it also creates an open, welcoming environment. In 2018, we expanded the scope of a campaign already underway when damage from a major hail storm created the need for more upgrades. More recently, contributions to our “Let Your Light Shine” Capital Campaign allowed us to update the Youth and Outreach Center and improve the lighting, sound, and live streaming capabilities in the Nave. As members of the parish saw the impact of these improvements, they offered additional gifts. This generosity made possible the replacement of the Narthex and hallway flooring last summer. Following the completion of the Narthex floor, a gift was given to purchase matching tile for the Nave. We’re excited to share our plans to prepare the Nave and install this tile in late June/early July in an effort to minimize its impact on the rest of our common life and ministry. That said, it will require us to worship in the Parish Hall for a few Sundays this summer. This retiling project will necessitate considerable preparations, including removing all pews and other items from the Nave and the complete wrapping of the organ. The total cost of the project is estimated to be $110,000. Gifts are still needed to complete this project debt-free, and we invite you to consider joining those who have already given generously. Please know I’m available to answer questions about this exciting project. You can reach out to me or any member of the Vestry for additional information. If you can contribute, please designate your gift as “Capital Improvement”. Stay tuned for a detailed timeline and other ways you can help make this project a success. I am grateful for your prayerful consideration of this request and continued support of our progress. Blessings,
