There is something in the bible for everyone!!! Everyone that reads this message has at least heard of the bible and so many of you have read it through and through. No matter where you fall on this spectrum - I send out a heartfelt invitation for you to join us in 2022 as we journey through our Christian story in the pages of the bible.
If you are like me, you have noticed that it is like a living and breathing set of books that can surprise you, give you joy, or even make you a little angry. The Holy scriptures written on the pages so many years ago can speak to us in a variety of ways throughout our lives and the year. In our tradition, we hear a set of readings each Sunday. This year as a community we are setting out to Read, Mark, Learn, and Inwardly Digest a set of readings Monday through Saturday as well. You will notice in this weekly email and on our website that we have given you some of the details about The Bible Challenge: Read the Bible in a Year, the book we will be using as a guide. There are also links to a great set of videos produced by The Bible Project that will open up additional learning opportunities. You can watch them on your own or sit down with your family and watch them together!!
I invite you to use the Bible Challenge book and the video links and calendars of readings on our website page as your guide to journey through the bible this new year. Keep an eye out for more information concerning a monthly gathering, open to the whole community, for fellowship and chat about the old and the new mysteries of faith that are being opened up to us in the pages of the bible.
