The Reluctant Dragon and An Invitation

The Ascension Stage Summer Theatre Presents

THE RELUCTANT DRAGON AND AN INVITATION

If you are unfamiliar with this story, here is the Synopsis as told by Mortimer the Dragon.

Kenneth Grahame wrote my story in 1898 and it has been read and loved by children and grown-ups ever since. A child who wishes for the adventure of a romantic conflict and a dragon-(that’s me)-who would rather spend his days enjoying the gentle joys of civilized life, for instance, tea-time and crumpets, a game of Scrabble, or a good book, comprises the plot. As the story unfolds and the Mighty St. George appears, you will begin to wonder at the need for conflict and understand my dragonfly desire for peace and gentleness. A pretty good lesson for all of us to learn, isn’t it?

Our troupe of players would love to invite you to come and watch this story unfold with amazing actors and endearing puppets. Mark your calendar for Friday, June 26 at 11:30 in the Parish Hall. No admission, all ages, and any seeking the higher gift of imagination is so very welcome!

If you know any child K-Grade 8 who perhaps missed this special week, there is a second week of Story Theatre beginning on July 5 here in the Parish Hall. The sign-up information is on the website, but you may also contact Mark Unkenholz directly at mark.unkenholz@ascensiondallas.org
